Kelly has completed a Bachelor of Biotechnology (Honours) at the School of Biotechnology and Biomolecular Sciences at the University of New South Wales. Kelly achieved First Class Honours for her research on protein nanostructure assembly.

Kelly is well-versed in diverse aspects of biotechnology and has particular expertise in molecular biology, bioengineering and synthetic biology.

As a member of the patents practice group of Gestalt Law, Kelly assists with all aspects of patent preparation and prosecution in relation to Australian, New Zealand and international patent matters.

Kelly is currently undertaking a Masters in Intellectual Property at the University of Technology, Sydney.
